A project spearheaded by Bobby Chhabra, the UVA Orthopedics Center has become one of the country’s most comprehensive clinics. The UVA Orthopedics Center provides comprehensive orthopedic clinical care, resident and fellow education, and musculoskeletal research.
Moreover, the UVA Orthopedics Center offers cost-effective care for musculoskeletal disorders and rehabilitation and physical therapy services. Since launching, the center has expanded to employ 32 faculty members and 20 physician assistants. A new after hours Orthopaedic walk-in injury care has been established. The operating rooms care for joint replacements, sports medicine, orthopedic trauma, hand, wrist, elbow, and ankle care. The Center also has a comprehensive prosthetics and orthotics clinic.
At the UVA Orthopedics Center Imaging center, patients can get MRIs, x-rays (appointment necessary), extremity CTs, MSK ultrasounds, therapeutic injections, and arthrograms. It provides practical, ethical options that enable patients to receive quality care that results in the best outcomes.
In education and research, UVA Orthopedics Center strives to provide students with quality graduate orthopedic education that includes innovative teaching methods and an evaluation process. The program incorporates ACGME milestones and surgical simulation, enhancing musculoskeletal research and clinical trial productivity. It accomplishes the research through collaborative relationships with others.
